Home is a place where you feel really safe with your loved ones.

Don't jeopardise that by placing your home or family at risk. Make sure you protect it. A working smoke alarm alerts you to danger quickly and gives you valuable time to get out, stay out and call 999.

If you don't have one, we have 200 smoke alarms to give away — just register on the form below. We'll pick 200 people who have registered at random to receive those alarms.

If you already have one, make sure you check the smoke alarm regularly. Push that button, make sure it works. It'll only take a second.

Register for a smoke alarm

Reduce the risk of fire by following a few simple tips:

  • Be aware of causes of fire such as smoking, candles, faulty electrical appliances and wiring.
  • Fit fire alarms on every level of your home.
  • Plan escape routes from the property.
  • More than half of all fire fatalities are aged over 65 years so check your parents' or grandparents' alarm, or an elderly neighbour's, not just your own.

A working smoke alarm can save the lives of you and your family.

Top tip

Check your smoke alarm on a regular basis.
